Automotive Technician Job Summary

We are a small automotive repair shop in Show Low, AZ, but quickly growing. We are a close-knit company that focuses on our employees and customers. We are looking for a reliable and knowledgeable Automotive Technician. In this role, you will inspect, repair vehicles, make recommendations for repairs, and vehicle maintenance. You may have to answer customer questions, inform customers about shop products and services, and adhere to vehicle safety protocols.

Automotive Technician Duties and Responsibilities

• Safety, mechanical, and electrical checks of vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, filter & oil changes, spark plugs, brakes, suspension, thermostat, water pump, belts, hoses, power steering flush, radiator flush, and transmission/differential fluid change.
• May perform major repairs such as transmission, engine, and differential swap, turbo charger R&R, injectors, timing belt/chain, oil pan R&R, and cylinder heads. (DOE)
• Identify pre-existing and potential vehicle malfunctions
• Work with the service manager to order inventory
• Inform customers about promotional products and services
• Test vehicle parts prior to installation/repair
• Keep accurate records of completed and outstanding jobs
• Consistently meet deadlines for completed work

Automotive Technician Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Vocational or postsecondary program completion preferred, but not required
• ASE Certification preferred, but not required
• At least 2 years of previous experience in a related role
• Extensive experience with various hand tools preferred
• Must have own tools to work on the vehicles
• Experience with Mitchell, ALLDATA, and Indentifix a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

• Show Low, AZ 85901: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
• Automotive repair: 1 year (Preferred)
