Auxiliary Operator
The Auxiliary Operator position is an entry-level labor job with possible advancement to journeyman jobs in the Operations department. It is designed to provide a variety of training and experience for more complex work and additional responsibilities. Experience in a physically demanding work environment and ability to work with all types of tools is desired. Auxiliary Operators must be able to work any rotating shift as necessary, which includes weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays. Must be able to work overtime and call-out duty as needed.
This position will be located at Plant Watson (Gulfport, Missississippi) or Plant Daniel (Escatawpa, Mississippi). The successful candidate must be willing to work at either of these locations.
Duties and tasks performed by Auxiliary Operators include:

Operate, maintain, clean, monitor and check the boiler, turbines and auxiliary equipment in the plant

Maintain logs, records and timesheets accurately

Assist other operations employees in completing operational tasks

Learn from operations employees about operations throughout the plant
Requirements for employment as Auxiliary Operators include:

Be at least 18 years of age
-
Operation of boilers, turbines and auxiliary equipment of a generating plant is preferred

Formal technical education, military experience, power plant experience, heavy or light industrial related experience is a plus

Possess a valid driver's license

Must be able to work any rotating shift as necessary, which includes nights, weekends and holidays

Must be able to work overtime and call-out duty as needed
Successfully passing the POSS/MASS pre-employment test is a requirement of the position.
