As a Banquet Server, you will:

• Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork as per standards of service.
• Create a warm, inviting atmosphere when interacting with guests and clients, and assist in ensuring that the guest/client has a positive experience.
• Guide guests and clients through all phases of their Biltmore Farms banquet experience from greeting to serving with a smile
• Familiarize yourself with menus, ingredients, presentation and proper food service standards
• Have a "can-do", pleasant and upbeat attitude while providing exceptional service to our guests and clients.
• Be proactive and anticipate guest needs and resolve issues quickly
• Set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown receptions and buffet tables for specified functions according to group requirements
• Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures and standardized by the Banquet Management Team.
• Effectively communicate with management, chefs and staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by the guest or other employees.
• Set up Banquet Room tables including folding napkins and decorating tables.
• Will be flexible and available to support the Food & Beverage Team and on occasion work as a Breakfast Server.

Essential Elements:

The skills of a Banquet Server are as diverse as our customers. Many of our guest and client meetings and events align with weekends and holidays, so our Banquet Servers must be ready to thrive during these times. Good communication and ability to lift and carry trays are must-haves, while working knowledge of banquet events is a plus.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience in the Food Service Industry is a plus. At least one year in a hotel setting is preferred. Have a working knowledge of food and wine, and the presentation of each. Have good communication and interpersonal skills; be flexible and willing to work wherever needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. on a tray or arm service where it applies.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and be able to walk, stoop and bend frequently.
