REPORTS TO: Coffee Program Lead Barista

JOB FUNCTION: The Barista works with the Coffee Program Lead Barista to achieve exceptional customer experience through efficient service, quality beverages and products, and a clean and safe environment. Assists in the manufacturing, packaging, pricing, merchandising, and displaying of Coffee Program products. Practices and adheres to food safety and sanitation standards. Greets and serves customers while providing prompt and courteous service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Previous barista, coffee house, or food service experience preferred. Specialty Coffee / Tea lover with a desire to learn more. Excellent Customer Service skills. Ability to resolve concerns from customers. Positive, fun attitude and behavior. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Motivation to achieve positive results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Observe all store rules, company policies, and Coffee Program practices.

2. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress and food safety regulations.

3. Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service.

4. Observe shift-operating hours at all times.

5. Follow approved procedures for preparing, packaging, pricing, and displaying all Coffee Program products.

6. Prepare, package, and merchandise approved Coffee Program items in accordance with preparation and packaging procedures and approved menu. Keeps products and supplies properly stocked to ensure maximum sales, quality, and freshness. Rotate and merchandise Coffee Program products, and record shrinkage of outdated or unsalable items.

7. Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

8. Maintain general housekeeping, sanitation, and food safety standards in compliance with store policy and state and local health regulations.

9. Observe security standards by staying alert and being aware of customer actions and behavior. Report to management any abnormal behaviors.

10. Record customer purchases into a cash register efficiently and accurately by scanning or keypunching as needed.

11. Collect payment in the form of cash, checks, or credit/debit cards from customers, process sale transactions, and tender accurate change in strict accordance with company policies and procedures.

12. Able to read, write, hear, and speak the English language.

13. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

14. Occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds and frequently exert or lift negligible amounts of weight.

15. Maintain inventory of product and supplies, and order quantities as needed.

16. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
