Gene Cook Supports, LLC. serves individuals who are diagnosed with an Intellectual Developmental Disability. We are committed to providing person-centered supports that focus on the unique qualities of each individual. This is done through developing comprehensive Positive Behavior Support Plans based on outcomes valued by the individual and those they trust. Our goal is to assist individuals and their supports with building upon strengths and learning skills to bridge gaps that impede success. This is done through directly supporting those we serve, facilitating collaboration amongst team members, conducting frequent trainings through modeling and direct feedback to family and staff, and maintaining quality qualitative and quantitative documentation. We seek a Behavior Support Professional that is passionate about maintaining a person- centered culture, focused on encouraging self-advocacy, and is excited to build upon their skillset to ensure that the highest level of quality support is being offered to each individual.

We are currently seeking Behavior Support Professionals (BSP’s) in the North Hills, South Hills, Castle Shannon, Tarentum, Central Pittsburgh, and Westmoreland County.

The primary functions of the Behavioral Support Professional are:

  • Developing Functional Behavior Assessments and making updates accordingly.
  • Developing comprehensive person-centered Positive Behavior Support Plans based on data derived from the Functional Behavior Assessment.
  • Ensures all strategies and recommendations are specific to the strengths and needs of the individual being supported.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training to staff, relatives, and caregivers upon the development of the Positive Behavior Support Plan and upon updates made to documents.
  • Provide direct support to individuals and those assisting them across all environments outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Collect, collaborate, and analyze information and data in order to determine progress toward goals/outcomes and needed fades in support.
  • Develop and analyze graphical representations of quantitative data.
  • Attend ISPs, trainings, and other meeting needed by the team.
  • Complete Monthly Reports based on direct supports provided, team collaboration, and data collection.
  • Complete Service Notes outlining supports provided during the session immediately following the service (not to extend into the next business day).
  • Collaborate with supervisors to develop professional goals and acquire assistance with operational and clinical needs.
  • Attend professional development trainings.
  • Meet department required deadlines for documentation.
  • Maintain the frequency and duration of supports provided.
  • Maintain a team approach to communication on cases.
  • All other duties assigned by Executive Director and Director of Behavioral Supports.

To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2-year experience working with individuals with ID/Autism required.
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social work, Education, Counseling, and/or any Behavior Related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities required.
  • Background checks (criminal history, child abuse, FBI, MVR).
  • Must complete orientation/staff training/Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) trainings.
  • Applicants Must be 18 years of age or older.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
