The Lovaas Institute is currently seeking entry-level and experienced behavior technicians, tutors/therapists to provide school and home based treatment to our clients using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Schedules may be for part-time or full-time hours depending on staff availability and client need.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary interventionist in the education/treatment of children with autism.
- Implement treatment plans to support acquisition of social, communication, academic and daily living skills.
- Assist with assessment and implementation of behavior management plans; record and help analyze data on a daily basis.
- Participate in group and individualized training meetings on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, creative, and dependable.
- Energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential.
- Comfortable working with children who display behavior challenges.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred. Degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or education recommended. Students actively pursuing their degree are also encouraged to apply.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
There is 1 type of position available:
- Part-time school based - weekdays 8am-3:30pm & 1-2 afternoons a month (20-29 hours per week)
- All positions will be part-time for the initial training period
- Intent to remain invested in the position for a minimum of one year
Locations:
- Opportunities to serve clients part-time in San Diego including communities in/near Carmel Valley, Scripps Ranch, 4S Ranch and occasional shifts in College area near SDSU
- Some opportunities to serve clients part-time in the College area near SDSU
Compensation:
- We provide behavior technicians with paid training to earn their RBT credential within the first 3 months of employment!
- Upon achieving the RBT credential, candidates with a Bachelor's degree will be offered $22/hour for direct service work with clients.
- Prior to achieving your RBT credential, the rate for direct service is $21/hr.
- Training hours and other non-clinical work compensated at $20/hour.
- Candidates without a BA will also be considered; the rate for direct service is $19/hr (and $18 for non-clinical hours/training).
- Pay for travel time between job sites at the non-clinical hourly rate. Mileage reimbursement also offered for travel between job sites.
