Day shift: Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30
$18.00-20.00/hourly based on experience

New Alternatives, Inc. is a private non-profit agency that provides a wide range of services to children, youth and families in San Diego and Orange Counties. Services include residential, outpatient, day treatment, school behavioral services and in-home support services.
Student Behavioral Coach
New Alternatives’ Alta Vista Academy is looking for patient, motivated and positive professionals to work with emotionally disturbed residential adolescents and students from the community in a SCHOOL SETTING. You will provide behavioral support services with the Sweetwater School District, while embracing trauma-informed and resiliency practices.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly care and supervise students
- Provide behavioral and academic support in the classroom
- Collaborate with teachers, residential staff, and therapist
- Promote a safe, stable, and academically friendly environment
- Maintain polite and respectful interactions with the students and adults
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- BA or BS in psychology, social work, education or other related field
- Experience in school or mental health setting is a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care, resiliency and culturally competent practices
- M-F 7:30am to 3:30pm
- Full-time
- Entry level position
New Alternatives, Inc. falls under the California Public Health Order and is additionally required by our county contract to ensure that all employees are vaccinated against COVID-19.
