Job Description:
Outpatient Substance Abuse
Summary:
Will assess clients' safety and welfare; assist with education and program activities; Provide assistance, supervision and coordination of therapeutic activities related to the daily living skills of clients.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and some experience in a supportive role in substance abuse are required. Valid Florida Driver's License with a safe driving record and current auto insurance.
Preferred Qualification:
Some Knowledge in the following areas is preferred: the practices and techniques of drug abuse prevention, treatment or rehabilitation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior or general mental health concepts.
  • Obtains Vital Signs, Urine Drug Screens.
  • Assess clients' safety and welfare; assist with education and program activities.
  • Provides assistance and supervision to clients in their activities.
  • Provides assistance and supervision to Clients in their activities.
  • Provides social interaction opportunities for clients.
  • Mediates client confrontations and assists in engaging clients in therapeutic behaviors.
  • Basic computer skills - Data Entry, Microsoft Office, Outlook.
Work Environment/ Physical Demands:
Works in well-lighted areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. in an outpatient behavioral health setting. Physical strength necessary to implement interventions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:
Hours of operation are 8am-6pm. Expected hours are Monday to Thursday. Travel may be required
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Key Performance Indicators
Meet billable hour productivity standards.
Complete clinical documentation within one business day of the service provided.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
All other duties as assigned.
