Citizens Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) provide support and services for people with I/DD who have multiple cognitive, medical and/or physical disabilities requiring 24-hour support and supervision. The people we support are medically complex, with program plans tailored to meet their individual needs. We are seeking a Level 2 Behavioral Intervention Specialist to:

• Provide services designed to maximize the intellectual, social, and emotional development and functioning of individuals receiving services under the supervision of an Assistant Director of Psychology and Ph.D. licensed psychologist.
• Support people with becoming active participants in every aspect of their lives and ensure that a high quality of life is maintained.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations, which may include assessment of intellectual functioning, adaptive behavior, emotional functioning and mental status, including Functional Behavior Assessments.
• Design and implement behavior programs to increase social skills and follow-up for documentation, support, and implementation of behavior programs.
• Provide staff training in behavior modification principles.
• Monitor participants’ progress according to treatment plan and make modifications when indicated.
• Maintain clinical documentation and complete periodic reviews.
• Report and document any events/activities that may hinder the health, safety and well-being of a resident.
• Participate in regular supervisory contact with Assistant Director of Psychology or Senior Behavioral Intervention Specialists.
• Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff.
• Receives training for agency SCIP-R instructor and maintain certification on an annual basis.
• Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
• Adhere to Federal and New York State regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook and agency and program training requirements.

We require:

• A Master’s degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
