Software Engineer (Telco)

Location: Dallas/Richardson, Texas

Contract Role: 3 Months to Start

Project Phase: Integration

Ideal candidate: Ability to help to investigate and fix software bugs

Contributing member of the team, helping test and enhance company's next generation fiber optical communications products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct HW/SW integration test in the Next Gen ROADM/ILA product transport domain.
• Investigate, analysis and fixing tickets from different test phases for ROADM\ILA product.
• Software Design improvement and implementation for the Next Gen ROADM\ILA product.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE:

• 5+ year experience in embedded system software development, telecom experience is a plus.
• Expert in C/C++, Python, and Shell scripts
• Experience in Embedded Linux systems with a strong understanding of multicore and multithreaded applications
• Experience in one or more of the following: Confd, YANG model, CLI/NETCONF/RESCONF/gNMI, DDS, distributed messaging frameworks, TCP/IP, etc
• Strong debugging skills including the use of GBD and analytical skills to understand system issues.
• Experience with the Atlassian suite of SW development tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate on software development requirements and share innovative approaches or ideas with team members
• Close interaction with Tech Support/Product Support/Development and System test is essential.
• Experience in unit test, continuous integration (CI/CD) frameworks and full software development life cycle (SDLC) is a plus.

EXPERIENCE EDUCATION:

• Bachelor or Masters of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years of software development experience
