We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our marketing team as a Hospice Biller !
A summary of duties includes:
The Biller is responsible for billing of hospice/room and board medical claims to third parties including, but not limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, private insurances and private pay sources. This includes covering all processes through the entire revenue cycle–from preparing items prior to claim submission such as posting the notice of election in Medicare, verification of insurance coverage (as required) to billing (in batch or by individual claim); posting payments; doing follow-up collections for outstanding accounts receivable; and running all related reports on an ongoing basis. The Biller maintains required billing records, reports, and files.
What we're looking for:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing required with third party payer reimbursement experience.
    • Hospice/room & board billing experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with MyUnity electronic medical record system.
    • Office management/accounts receivable background preferred within an accounting office setting.
    • Enjoys working with people and is assertive, mature, approachable and open-minded.
    • A professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisor, co-workers and all others is required.
    • Possess satisfactory references and pass criminal background, national sex offender, drug and motor vehicle checks.
Additional Job Details:
  • Job Type: Hourly / Full-time with Benefits
  • Combination Remote/in-office position. Will need to report to either Wenonah or West Atlantic City office for trainings and occasional meetings.
  • FLSA: Non-exempt
Physical Requirements:
Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting. Also required is driving, writing, speaking, relating to others, making independent decisions, listening and finger dexterity, and the ability to lift and carry.
