Billing and Reimbursement Specialist

Nashua Eye Associates is an Ophthalmology Practice located in Nashua New Hampshire. We are currently looking for an energetic billing and reimbursement specialist that is experienced in healthcare billing. This position is responsible for the accurate and efficient billing and collecting of health insurance payments from insurance carriers. The Billing and Reimbursement specialists will coordinate, document, and communicate with health insurance representatives regarding proper insurance payments in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Understands business implications of decisions.
• Reviewing of Explanation of Benefits.
• Responsible for reviewing and addressing incoming mail correspondence.
• Responsible for accurate billing and collecting of revenue for all financial classes including Commercial, Federal, and State insurance plans.
• Obtain and track claim status via phone and online portals.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of protected health information.
• Maintains HIPPA compliance.
• Compose and follow up on claims appeals
• Communicating with patients regarding insurance checks.
• Appropriately identify, address, submit or process adjustments, overpayments, and outstanding balances.
• Allocating coinsurance and deductible appropriately within the database.
• Performs other duties as requested by manager

• Computer skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable with extensive telephone interactions.
• Ability to see projects through to the end.
• 3+years’ experience in health care billing preferred
• Equivalent healthcare experience will be considered.
