Overview

The Laboratory of Dr. Hongbo Chi in the Department of Immunology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Analyst to lead the analysis of multi-omics studies in molecular and systems immunology and immuno-oncology. We are particularly interested in understanding the metabolic programs, signaling pathways and systems-level regulatory networks in basic T cell and dendritic cell biology and antitumor immunity. The Chi Lab is recognized for its expertise in investigating immunologic mechanisms underlying cancer and other diseases, with a track record of publications in top-tier journals such as Nature, Cell, Nature Immunology, Immunity, Nature Cell Biology and Cell Metabolism.

Please see the following articles published over the past few years for additional information: Nature Reviews Immunology (2022); Immunity 55:14 (2022); Nature Chemical Biology 18:470 (2022); Nature 607:135 (2022); Nature Cell Biology 24:1642 (2022); Nature 600:308 (2021); Nature 595:724 (2021); Nature 591:306 (2021); Cell 184:1245 (2021); Nature Reviews Immunology 20:55 (2020); Cell Metabolism 32:996 (2020); Nature 565:101 (2019); Nature 576:471 (2019); and Nature 558:141 (2018).

In this position, the candidate will perform cutting-edge computational analyses of multi-omics datasets derived from immune and other (e.g. tumor) cells. The candidate will work closely with other lab personnel including systems immunologists. These efforts will involve highly integrative studies consisting of comprehensive bulk and single-cell omics datasets, including RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, proteomics, and CRISPR screening. A deep understanding of immunology, genetics or epigenetics, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and expertise in NGS data analysis is critical for this position. This individual is expected to have the capacity to execute proficient computational analyses and troubleshoot independently, to communicate effectively with the PI, scientists, postdocs, and other collaborators, and to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment. Take advantage of this opportunity to leverage your skills in bioinformatics and help save lives of children from all around the world!
