Position Information

Position Title
Biology Laboratory Technician I (10 month)

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include preparation of labs for Cell Biology, Genetics, Physiology, and Microbiology. General laboratory duties include media preparation; general laboratory organization (set-up and take down); overseeing student workers; communicating with faculty, staff, and students; and other duties as assigned. This is a ten-month position (August through May annually).

Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include an associate’s degree in the biological sciences or a closely related field; strong organizational skills; and the ability to handle multiple and varied tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree with two years of responsible experience in a laboratory setting; supervisory experience; and work experience in a university or office setting.
