Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for understanding the existing automation configurations, setting automation goals, and facilitating advancement towards those goals. Also, you will contribute directly to efficiency improvements, improved test coverage and early problem detection.
Technologies include various build and test automation tools such as:
- pyTest, python, Jenkins, build servers, Docker, DejaGnu (expect/tcl), scripting, setup of networked test targets, remote power cycling, remote image initialization, lab creation and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will be an effective facilitator/consensus builder, able to collaborate across multiple teams, able to set strategic objectives and break them into smaller tasks that are achievable and measurable.
An overlap of responsibilities includes: DevOps and Testing.
Essential Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will prepare and give training on their knowledge in “easy to understand” presentations (training material) and support and train co-workers.
- Linux and QNX OS architectures and their key differences / similarities
- Knowledge of BSPs (Board Supported Packages)
- Boot sequences of boards, that of Intel and ARM (7,8) boards
- UBoot, PXE (Network Booting, TFTP, etc.)
- Good to have knowledge for Linux OS booting
- Great to have knowledge for QNX OS booting
- Knowledge and experience (+5 years) on lab equipment:
- Low-level/Advanced Linux OS knowledge
- Server Grade hardware
- Configuration of servers
- RAID/LVM Controller & Configuration
- Knowledge of rack-mount servers
- Jenkins (3+ years’ experience)
- Workings of generic jobs
- Build pipelines, pipelines (scripted, declarative)
- Ability to administrate
- Shell/Bash and Python Scripting (+3 years’ experience)
- Dev Ops (+5 years’ experience)
- Hypervisor/VM knowledge
- Knowledge of: Open Nebula, VMWare, Qemu, Xen
- Knowledge of the DejaGnu (yoyo) test framework
