BOH Manager Job Description
Role Summary:
To develop strategies and put ideas into action that drive the store towards our brands shared vision. The BOH manager must guide and develop leaders who work to progress the business. Must take ownership over their respective areas and work with the leadership team to ensure 100% coverage. Top 2 priorities in our pursuit of excellence: Food Safety and Safety of Personnel.

- Inspire, Motivate, and Build a high performing team who takes true ownership in the business.
- Ensure overall cleanliness/organization of kitchen.
- Complete or ensure the completion of at least 2 SAFEs/eRQAs daily. Brief findings daily to team and bring repeat findings to leadership m
- Develop leaders to operate as a motivated, high-performance team. This should be highly intentional and happen each day through goal-setting and regular performance feedback.
- Hold one Shift Leader meeting per month to communicate goals. Collaborate with FOH managers to hold one combined FOH and BOH Shift Leader meeting per quarter.
- Have performance feedback sessions with FOH Leads and Shift Leaders monthly.
- Hold BOH Team Members and Shift Leaders accountable to policies as needed by providing feedback and write-ups when necessary. Ensure Shift Leaders are completing these on their shifts.
- Ensure proper chicken rotation process and evaluate thaw allocation quarterly
- Understand and develop actionable items to address CEM/CARES/Inspection findings.
- Continuous assessment of all systems and procedures to ensure proficiency and effectiveness. Quickly resolve any issues with operations and look to implement a system/process to ensure its success.
- Ensure FIFO, organization of all products, and proper accountability of all things food safety.
- Pioneer a culture of food safety and proper procedures thru AHA accountability, time and temperature requirements, and overall cleanliness of kitchen.
- Implement and manage waste/delivery discrepancies to include but not limited to seeking chicken credit, QICs, etc.
- Implement food quality measures and ensure all team members are trained the Chick-fil-A way (Pathway).
- Ensure team members are grounded in the Chick-fil-A culture.
- Communicate to all levels of leadership, to include but not limited to schedulers, BOH leads, and/or Operator.
- Lead and manage Inform, inventory management, and all back-office reports. Train as required and follow up periodically to ensure accountability.
- Ensure and implement a procedure/culture of care for all equipment items.
- Manage disciplinary system for BOH.
- Continuous process improvement… always be looking for areas of opportunity.
- Manage labor, food, and paper costs and ensure proper reporting… can include but limited to time punch variances, End-of-Month accountability, waste tracking, and scheduling.
- Be the ‘Point of contact’ for each team member for any questions/concerns they have. Breed a culture of care coupled with fair and equal accountability.
- Be involved in operations during peak times.
- Assist HR in sourcing and hiring talent as well as disciplining, firing, or having hard conversations with team members.
o Will complete all second interviews for hiring
- Maintain personal development plans for each BOH leader and help hone leadership skills
Job Requirements:
- Must be 18+
- Open availability required
- ServSafe Certification
- 2+years of kitchen leadership experience
- Positive Attitude, servant heart, and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team
- Team-oriented, adaptable, dependable, and a Strong work ethic
- Have a coachable spirit and growth mindset
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and stand for up to 10 hours
- Ability to multitask
- Willingness to go above and beyond, step outside comfort zone and job role to assist business needs
- Must be an excellent coach, communicator, encourager, and team builder
Composition Package:
- Up to $22/hr
- $150/month allowance for Cell Phone, Gym, Dry Cleaning, etc
- $250/month towards Health Insurance thru GIOA
