Job description
The Media Strategist is a critical role in the Brand Marketing department. They must be able to successfully complete three essential tasks: campaign audience targeting recommendation and analysis (WHO), optimal campaign engagement time (WHEN) and optimal channel strategy (WHERE).
The Media Strategist will develop and implement paid and trade advertising strategies and executions for all campaigns. This could include Social, Print, Digital. OT, Radio or TV advertising. The Media Strategist will actively evaluate the success of individual campaigns while optimizing each campaign for peek performance. An important part of this role will be developing and maintaining external and internal relationships, serve as the primary point of contact for external media agencies and be the internal media subject matter expert.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee internal media team and leverage motivational leadership style that encourages action and empowers success.
- Execute paid and trade (as needed) advertising strategies that align with our business and marketing objectives. This includes leading the strategic purchase and placement of paid social, digital, TV, radio, print, OOH, display and search.
- Manage campaign flowcharts, learning plans and KPI measurements.
- Ensure all campaigns are flighted on time and remain on budget.
- Implement ad-related tracking, including retargeting and conversion pixels.
- Collaborate with Brand team to ensure campaigns are rooted in a Core Consumer Insights, leverage media best practices and general creative direction that reinforces brand guidelines.
- Work closely with analysts to develop, analyze, and deliver campaign recaps.
- Report on creative effectiveness and offer creative optimization recommendations to team.
- Identify new opportunities in emerging paid channels.
- Incorporate regular creative and audience A/B testing analysis.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of advertising experience. Agency experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Must have experience with digital media platforms (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager).
- Must have experience building strong cross-functional relationships and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Must have experience leading teams and being a people manager.
- Ideal to have experience in brand management and content development.
- Ideal to have experience in restaurant, foodservice, retail, or CPG.
