Position: Bus Driver
Grades: Pre-K – 12th
Classification: Non-exempt
Grade/Subject: TBD

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must hold a current Texas CDL Class B or C with Passenger endorsement CDL that allows driving of 20+ passenger buses
- 1-3 years of driving or transportation experience preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology
- No at-fault traffic accidents
- No drug or alcohol related driving convictions (DUI, DWI)
- Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical exam
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, to control operations of equipment or systems, and to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the bus is working properly.
- Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into every day duties
- Transport students and school personnel to and from school events
- Ensure adherence to safety rules
- Assist passengers in boarding and exiting
- Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
- Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport students to and from school activities.
- Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops.
- Keep bus interior clean for passengers.
- Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
- Maintain order among students during trips to ensure safety.
- Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers on trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption or fares received.
- Report any bus malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Attend safety meetings
- Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Brook Hill team members in order to strengthen student performance and support
- Participate in the broader ministry of Brook Hill by contributing time, talent and treasure beyond assigned role and responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation, Principal, Athletic Director, Director of Res Life, Director of HR and Business Operations, and/or Head of School
