Job Summary:

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join Vail Resorts’ Enterprise Data Engineering and Enablement (EDEE) group. This role will primarily support our partners in Finance, Marketing Analytics, and Revenue Management. This role will work in a collaborative environment with project managers, data engineers, and data stewards to ensure the efforts meet requirements and specifications.

A successful Entry Level EDEE Business Analyst is skilled at organization, detail-oriented, inquisitive, technically-minded, and has experience with the syntax of SQL or robust experience in Excel. As an entry-level role, the expectation is for the person who takes this role to be ready to learn and absorb. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Business Analysis and Product Ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with business partners to define and document business requirements
• Collaborate with solution architect to convert approved business requirements into functional/technical specifications to be handed off to development staff
• Define success criteria and create test plans for Unit Testing, System Testing and User Accepting Testing
• Facilitate testing with developers and testers – Identify, document and track issues through resolution
• Assist Project Managers with assessing project level of effort, resource planning, risk management and scope containment
• Provide operational support for production issues arising in the Customer Master and Data Warehouse ecosystem. Work with various IT teams to troubleshoot issues
• Work with business partners to assess severity/priority of production issues, determine business impact and communicate progress during resolution
• Work with business and IT partners to understand different approaches to delivering data with multiple Analytics and Reporting tools
• This role has light on-call duties (requiring occasional availability at 7 AM MT)

A Successful Entry-Level Candidate Will Have:

• Strong desire to learn and implement strategies for business analysis
• Strong organizational and research skills
• Keen attention to detail, ensuring high data quality
• Ability to translate technical and business considerations into clear documentation
• Experience with SQL or robust experience creating and using formulas in Excel
• Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking with and translating between technical and non-technical team members at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, comfortable with shifting priorities

A Successful Mid-Level Candidate Will Also Have:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Information Systems, Computer Science or related concentration
• 1-2 years of demonstrated business analysis experience, delivering cross functional projects
• Ability to coordinate and lead peers through requirements, design and testing process
• Intermediate SQL skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Awareness of Analytics and Reporting tools – preferably SSAS, SSRS, SAS
• Awareness of Adobe Technology Stack tools – Campaign, Target, Analytics, Experience Manager
• Awareness of Cloud Tools and Data platforms – AZURE, Snowflake
• Ability to manage multiple projects as well as application maintenance and support
• Participation in delivering projects using SDLC and Agile methodologies

The budgeted range starts at $66,100 - $87,110. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
