ABC Fine Wine & Spirits is looking for a Business Programmer to join our team. As a business programmer, you would be responsible for the development, testing, deployment, and support of software products to meet our business needs. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively or independently within our team structure. This position is hybrid and requires travel to the Corporate office in Orlando twice a week.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Develops system solutions, procedures and programs that solve business needs and problems.
  • Maintain existing code base including troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Evaluate and understand requirements for new initiatives, document and carry the development life cycle from development into production.
  • Learn and understand core business processes and related IT structure.
  • Follow project management methodology.
  • Build, present, document, and execute test plans while providing testing status to project management / business teams.
  • Generate documentation for multiple programming functions such as design documents, mapping documents, process maps, and training documents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for issues as required.
  • Participate, in rotation, for on-call after hours support.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and security readiness exercises.
  • Promote code from development and production following IT policies and procedures.
  • Develop automated processes to create business efficiency.
  • Follow best practices to streamline business operations and processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience programming on the IBMi in RPG.
  • Experience with multiple languages, protocols and tools including RPG, CL, SQL, and APIs.
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing technology and programming languages.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, ability to juggle multiple tasks based on priority.
  • Understanding of business concepts including direct support for processes in retail systems, accounting, warehousing, purchasing / merchandising.
Beneficial Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Retail environment, including Point of Sale and eCommerce.
  • Experience with Blue Yonder MMS
  • Experience with IBM I operating systems administration and backup.
  • Experience with warehouse and distribution.
  • Experience with Oracle interfaces.
  • Experience with Visual Studio (SSIS).
  • Experience with other programming languages, such as Java, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, Java Script, HTML, PHP, etc.
  • Experience with B2B protocols such as SSH FTP, AS2, EDI, etc.
Physical Requirements

  • May sit or stand at a workstation for up to 8 hours using computers, phones, and office equipment.
  • Routinely handles paperwork, materials, collateral and other printing supplies and deliverables.
  • Occasionally needs to lift and/or transport up to 30 pounds of boxes, printed materials, or various items short distances, to and from the normal workstation.
  • Occasionally needs to stand or walk short distances to areas that are not immediately accessible from the workstation, such was printers, mailroom, and meeting rooms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision (at 20 inches or less), distance vision (at 20 feet or more), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • The work environment is a typical climate-controlled office environment.
  • Hybrid (Office/Remote) work environment.
  • The workplace may be partly remote, which will be confirmed upon hire.
