Overview:
WiredPeople (WP), a consulting firm for state and local government providing subject matter experts, welcomes applicants for our Business Development Associate role. This position is open to applicants located in the United States as a work remote from anywhere position reporting directly to and working with our Senior Director of Client Solutions.
The Business Development Associate represents WP as a competent subject matter expert provider to current and future customers and is responsible for executing company-defined marketing and sales plans, and conducting activities that support sales and revenue goals. In your capacity as a Business Development Associate, your primary responsibility will be interacting directly with state and local government entities to provide consistent growth of the prospect pipeline.
The Business Development Associate will coordinate with company and client leadership in the following areas:
- Lead generation and account pre-qualification with state and local government entities
- Coordinate and schedule meetings and sales calls
- Assist in the general duties of account management
- Analyze the needs of prospective clients and develop individual sales strategies to further promote the company’s’ products and service to the prospect
- Attend state and local government events and represent WP at various users and trade groups

- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite effectively

- Familiarity and experience with research tools and effective tools for electronic communications
- Excellent judgement
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and proofreading ability
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to influence professionals and management
- Demonstrate strong client relationship skills
- Strong sense of customer service
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or applicable work experience
- Sales or lead generation experience with state government entities
- Knowledge of SalesForce or other industry CRM products
- Capable of developing lead generation strategies and marketing plans for new accounts.
- Ability to work well with limited supervision
