The Business Development Director identifies, negotiates, and closes localization business opportunities with new and existing Argos Multilingual customers. Meets or exceeds Argos Multilingual revenue and profitability goals. Also responsible for maintaining long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Achieves targeted sales, revenue, and gross profit margin goals through continuous initiative and involvement in new business activities.
- Generates new leads and prospects, ensuring continuity of business prospecting. Reviews and qualifies prospective customers for Argos Multilingual services.
- Develops and reviews proposals for completeness, accuracy, and correct representation of our company standards.
- Ensures projects are analyzed, defined, priced, and submitted according to customer requirements and our company pricing procedures.
- Identifies new business opportunities in strategic areas of growth for existing accounts.
- Identifies and sells Argos Multilingual services, including newly developed services, to existing and new accounts.
- Provides thorough handoffs to operations staff by clearly defining the proposed scope of work to ensure successful completion of awarded projects.
- Participates in the resolution of any account problems, such as quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
- Oversees prompt notification of budget changes to customers. Follows up on overdue accounts.
- Represents the account team and Argos Multilingual at key customer meetings, including going to customer locations for on-site reviews, post-mortems, and problem resolution.
- Organizes and participates in industry presentations for optimal promotion of Argos Multilingual.
- Participates in visibility programs (in accordance with agreed upon budgets and objectives), including trade show attendance, conferences, advertising, PR, etc.
- Provides accurate activity reporting as required.
- Occasional to frequent travel required.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Five-or more years of experience with proven success in sales, business development, project management, or account management with direct customer contact.
- Knowledge of the localization industry, processes, and tools is desirable
- Strong initiative, negotiation, and sales ability.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills; strong organizational skills.
Language Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good analytical and documentation skills.
- Good customer service skills, along with excellent problem solving ability.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages, basic algebra).
- Ability to concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
