For our Sales & Marketing team, we are looking for a Business Development Manager / Tender Leader NAM Services Operations & Maintenance.


Purpose of the job:
  • Define and deliver the business development strategy for NAM Services Operation & Maintenance.
  • Enable Alstom to win new customers and/or to sell new solutions to existing customers.
  • Boost order intake by co-defining and implementing together with the Customer Directors the Business Development strategy for NAM Services Operation & Maintenance to win new customers or markets, and to sustain market share .
  • Manage external and internal activities during critical tender: define, align and implement the winning strategy to secure new orders for Alstom NAM Services O&M. Lead all the customer relationship and internal activities during tender process.

Key accountabilities:
  • Define and implement Business Development strategy in line with NAM business plan.
  • In the context of commercial carousel, align on prioritization of tenders requiring a specific focus.
  • Promote NAM Services O&M solutions to win business, particularly with potential customers and new products & services.
  • Ensure market screening for potential opportunities and practice as local relay for marketing.
  • Find access to decision networks and orientate the decision-making process.
  • Contribute to the selection of the partner in complex bids.
  • Organize the Tender and define the strategy.
  • Support the Business Development Director or the Customer Director during the pre-tendering activities.
  • Manage the tender preparation activities, focus on customer evaluation criteria.
  • Contribute to the QCD definition of the offered solution, issue with the Bid Manager the Instructions for Quotation
  • Coordinate legal, financing, tax, marketing, design & styling, passenger experience.
  • Manage the commercial proposal.
  • Prepare and obtain Tender approval.
  • Propose the Negotiation Strategy and obtain approval.
  • Manage the interface with Customers and Partners (if any)
  • Negotiate (with the assistance of the Customer Director and Bid Manager)
  • Manage the transfer to the Project Manager
  • Contribute to the REX through the Win/Loss Analysis
  • Indirectly supervises varied employees in the Bids & Proposals, and leads the tender
activities of the team in the delivery of Services O&M bid tender response.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs.
  • Represents Company at client meetings. Delivers presentations to key clients in coordination with Customer Directors.
  • Meets with key clients.
  • Coordinates with bid teams to create and support project governance documentation and lead all project governance reviews on behalf of the region.
  • Participates in technical reviews with platform and engineering organizations to deliver a best value product solution to our customer.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

Desired profile:
  • Engineering or management diploma
  • 7-10 years' minimum of pertinent experience
  • Railway experience in North America, mandatory
  • Relationship Development: Build strong relationships with customers, external customer stakeholders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Competitive Awareness: Gain knowledge of competitors’ strengths, weaknesses and offerings, to be able to convince the customer of ALSTOM’s added value.
  • Planning and Execution: Identify new opportunities and lead a winning team to maximize ALSTOM’s value in those opportunities
