Position Summary

Develops automotive battery customer relationships, accounts, and agreements on a global basis. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Parker component specifications for battery assembly manufacturers on a unified multi-group basis. Coordinate sales activity and relationship development with battery assembly equipment manufacturers and end users.

Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provides reports, on a regular and/or monthly basis. Keeps management and sales personnel aware of changes affecting the customer's industry as well as engineering, sales and distribution of Parker products. Leads the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and document new technologies which may assist in growth of the division. Develop business models for the technologies which include projected sales, potential market penetration, gross margins, risk analysis, and business feasibility
  • Deliverables for the position include but are not limited to: Identification and launch of innovative products.
  • Identification of new business, technologies and markets for the division
  • Market research and development through guidance from the marketing function. Position maintains a secondary reporting structure to the division marketing manager to ensure adherence to product line and divisional strategies.
  • Conducts and documents competitive research, paradigm shifting technologies, new market trends, and customer requirements for electronics, systems engineering, and value added services.
  • Develop and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs.
  • Initiate new product and technology benchmarking activities which include testing, component analysis, cost analysis, design comparisons, market channel analysis, risk analysis, etc.
  • Produce marketing analysis and reports / presentations to division and group management as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical / engineering discipline. Emphasis on electrical engineering desired. Advanced degree in business desirable.
  • Program management experience from business model development through design and implementation processes.
  • Sales or business development experience in the automotive battery manufacturing or battery assembly industry
  • Experience working with the automotive battery production equipment makers
  • Program launch or program management experience on automotive battery projects
  • Electromechanical or hydraulic technology knowledge preferred
  • Ability to snythesize data, create reports and business proposal/presentations
  • Patient team builder with global acumen to build and manage high level customer contacts
  • Innovative / creative background and capabilities.
  • Premier customer service mentality and proven track record.
  • Ability to develop solutions to customer problems and translate the solutions into business development strategies and products.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25%.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
