BJC is hiring for a Business Analyst. Must be able to communicate with stake holders to gather requirements and work with IT leaders to define the overall scope. Collaborate with the Architecture team.

Role Purpose

The Business Analyst II (BA II) demonstrates ability in IT analysis methodologies with a foundational understanding of the IT systems that support a given business function (e.g., finance, laboratory services) to elicit and document business requirements for IT solutions and to offer input to business leaders about how those IT solutions can be modified to support the business strategy. The BA II ensures accurate representation of the business value achieved within a business case and that the IT solution is consistent with the long-term vision of the business. The BA II brings knowledge of technologies relevant to the functional area as well as proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiation (using demonstrated skills in cost-benefit analysis, trending, forecasting, and financial analysis). Moderate proficiency in Mocrosoft Office desktop products is necessary.the BA II drives desired oustcomes through use of strong interpersonal communication skills, and and strong meeting and facilitation skills.


Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term roadmaps for relevant domain (e.g., network, compute); define, develop and maintain BJC domain architecture standards and principles; set domain architecture standards, methodologies, and requirements.
  • Understand the lifecycle requirements of the domain infrastructure/applications, and work proactively with Portfolio Managers to drive recommended/required investment.
  • Broker effective communication between suppliers, architects, or other stakeholders as necessary to resolve test issues or develop alternatives should issues arise.
  • Have a cross-functional understanding of the IT architectural domains, while also having deep domain subject matter expertise, and the ability to communicate its role and importance to other IT domain architects.
  • Evaluate emerging domain-specific architecture technologies and recommend those that will increase performance, reliability, cost effectiveness, infrastructure flexibility or otherwise provide value to BJC.
