Description of Role:
Mountaineer Employment Solutions has partnered with an environmental consultant in Fairmont, WV. They are currently seeking a Business Manager. The Business Manager provides significant input to the Operations Manager regarding the day-to-day operations in all administrative matters relating to the successful operation of the business area of responsibility. Furthermore, manages the activities of the area of assigned responsibility operating functions in support of policies, goals, and business objectives established by the Company and at the direction of the Operations Manager.

This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Tasks and Requirements:
  • Has the ability to guide and directs area administrative personnel in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization’s products and services
  • Will be responsible for overseeing the areas administrative activities with responsibility for multiple customers/accounts within the business unit, including cost controls and accounting/billing.
  • Acts as both a formal and informal resource to the Operations Manager and Project Managers providing input on administrative processes for accurate accounting of inventory, cost controls and timely billing.
  • Implements and oversees the successful implementation of short and longer range plans and programs that meet area operations goals and objectives (e.g., growth objectives).
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to all senior management regarding the business unit’s operating structure and actions/processes necessary to effectively manage the organization's current and projected activities.
  • Develops and installs procedures and actions to promote communication and adequate information flow within and among office personnel, regional projects and project managers, including those outside of this position’s immediate span of control (i.e., where servicing the same customer).
  • Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined, understood and executed.
  • Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with Company policy and controls and local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Skills and Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of increasing management responsibility in a mid-large craft/industrial/services organization, overseeing multiple/large projects with significant impact on overall business results.
  • Worked in a business with sales of at least $20 million, during the last 4-5 years.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing business processes (2-3 years minimum).
  • Has worked with an ERP system, Net Suites or similar.
  • Managed or worked with inventory as part of the business process.
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills with ability to be a leader within a team of construction.
  • Strong process orientation and organizational skills a must.
  • Record of developing and implementing pro-active solutions to meet the needs of the company (employer) and the customer.
  • Record of adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards. Must maintain a high degree of integrity.
  • Record of recruiting, motivating, managing and developing a capable project controls and administrative team, including development of future succession candidate(s).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Must have a working/operational knowledge of key financial and operational drivers for success.
  • College degree preferred but not required.

Work Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation:
$85,000 - $110,000 per year
