Dairyfood USA, Inc., a market leader in specialty cheese production for over 65 years, is currently seeking a Buyer, responsible for the overall material procurement and support of all supply chain functions. Based in our production facility in the heart of America’s Dairyland, Blue Mounds, WI, this position reports to the Supply Chain Manager
Primary Job Functions:
- Initiate and monitor the purchasing process based upon forecasted or actual demand.
- Monitor work in process and on-hand inventory to ensure efficient production and customer order fulfillment, while minimizing inventory investment.
- Communicate daily with the production planning and management team to ensure efficient production and customer order fulfillment.
- Pursue and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable sources for raw materials and other critical purchases.
- Oversee vendor approval process and maintain annual vendor review process to ensure that all SQF, regulatory, internal and customer requirements are met.
- Maintain all vendor required documents in accordance with SQF and regulatory requirements.
- In conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager, negotiate with vendors based upon price, quality, payment terms and delivery.
- Monitor pricing and quality of all inventory items using variance & material rejection report information. Take corrective action as required.
- Define and monitor vendor lead times.
- Oversees process for procurement of new items for new products being developed.
- Regularly forecast process through analysis of historical data and close interaction with sales department.
- Resolve any price discrepancies between any invoice and purchase order.
- Ensure that COA, BOL and receiving documents flow through internal processes efficiently.
- Analyze vendor performance data and take corrective action as necessary.
- Assist Supply Chain Manager and COO with obsolescence review and pursue markets for materials no longer needed for production.
- Assist Supply Chain Manager and COO with standard cost development and review.
- Participate in the ERP implementation process and ensure ERP database accuracy for defined areas for the item and vendor master files.
Basic Qualifications:
- An Associatres degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field, or the equivlaent in experience
- A minium of 2 year of buying, supply chain or procuement experience
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred but not required
Hours: Normal office hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
