About us

Scurfield Woodworks, LLC is a small business located in Mableton, GA. We are a fully custom cabinetry/furniture shop, servicing our clientele in the greater Atlanta area and beyond. Our company designs, produces, assembles, finishes, and installs all of our work in-house.

We are looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and a passion for creating beautiful, high-quality cabinets. A successful candidate will be responsible for constructing and installing custom cabinetry solutions for our clients. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work on a team and independently/efficiently. Ultimately, an outstanding candidate will suggest additions to our catalog and improvements to our workflow, with the ultimate goal of facilitating our company's growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials
• Cut materials to size using saws, chisels, routers, and other tools.
• Assemble parts into cabinets and other furniture pieces to planned speficifactions.
• Sand pieces with hand tools or power sanders.
• Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and drawer slides.
• Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference
• Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools
• Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
• Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time
• Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as wood scraps, nails, and screws
• Selecting the appropriate materials, construction methodology, and tools for each task
• Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality

Prior Experience

• Cabinetry/Furniture shop work: 2+ years

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
