Summary of Duties:

The Child and Family Research Unit (CAFRU) Project Associate will be responsible for design and supervision, as well as direct delivery of activities related to planning, organizing and implementing activities addressing the public health consequences of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and resulting trauma for our grant programs scope of work including assessment, program development and evaluation for community health, social services, and educational programs.

Exercise significant independent decision-making in assigned development, service, and research program of CAFRU. Contribute to other assigned tasks as assigned by the Director.

Specific program content is dependent on funding source and can include both new areas of work development funded by CAFRU unobligated funds and specific contract scopes of work. Examples include: educational programs (including presentations, workshops and conferences), youth educational experiences, consultation and model service delivery, research and evaluation of third-party agencies, and community group facilitation. Develop educational materials, reports, and program delivery methods appropriate to assigned tasks. The CAFRU Project Associate has a mix of project supervision and implementation responsibilities typically operating as a team leader for a group of colleagues, but also serving on other project teams as assigned by the Director.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related experience in the program specialty. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Prefer a Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects and experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, clinical or health care related field, or other relevant extension discipline.
  • This position requires the ability to travel frequently to various facilities in regions relevant to assigned programs and work a flexible schedule during the week including nights and weekends frequently requiring overnight travel.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid unrestricted driver's license at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with community development techniques and in delivering technical assistance to rural communities/health systems and K-12 schools.
  • Experience with the social, cultural, economic demographic characteristics of Washington State.
  • Experience in an education, social services, clinical or health care administrative area.

Monthly Salary:

$4,508.00 - $6,767.00

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. Temporary End Date:

This is a temporary one-year project position. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Funding has been renewed successfully for several years and we expect funding to continue to be renewed.
