Malvern Day Camp (MDC) Camp Lifeguards are responsible for teaching swim lessons, guarding the pool ensuring safety of all people in the pool area (including children 5-14 years old) and learning the procedures to maintain the cleanliness and up keep of the pool facility.

The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:15am-4:15pm*, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from mid June to mid August 2023. There will be mandatory training dates before camp begins.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for lifeguarding and ensuring safety of all people in and out of pool
• Enforce all pool rules
• Know and understand each swimming skill level and the skills that are taught
• Teach swim lessons to children ages 4-9 with different ability levels
• Work effectively with other lifeguards and take turns with various responsibilities.
• Serve as a positive role model to campers

Requirements:

• Current Lifeguard Certification

• Previous lifeguard experience (preferred)

• Previous experience working with children

• Previous experience teaching swim lessons (preferred)
• Follow and maintain all Malvern Day Camp policies and procedures

• Minimum of 18 years of age

Required upon hire

• Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, NSOR)
• Willingness to complete additional training (Mandated reporting, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, Health and Safety Basics, and other DHS required file items)
