Job description

The Capture Manager will play a crucial role by leading the business development lifecycle and managing our current programs. Ideal candidates have experience with Science and Technology, served as a Program Manager, and have in-depth knowledge of the Shipley proposal process.

Qualified candidates have the proficiency to perform market and economic research analysis, identify gaps and emerging requirements, design and execute formal capture plans, and monitor competitors for each capture.
The Capture Manager will also support special projects on behalf of the CEO, bringing closure to important projects, jumpstarting key programs, assisting with technology forecasting, and identifying innovative directions for the company to pursue.

  • Gather intelligence to identify and qualify new business opportunities
  • Foster existing, and generate new customer relationships
  • Provide leadership and oversight during both capture and proposal development phases
  • Build out technology-driven projects
  • Lead and assist with development and completion of independent corporate studies
  • Assist with Science & Technology-focused corporate knowledge development initiatives:
    • Scout new technologies and processes to address client challenges and future directions of corporate interest
    • Propose and design studies in collaboration with relevant corporate stakeholders
  • Build new, and maintain existing academic relationships
  • Liaison between technical and business teams (i.e., ability to convey complex technical terms into clear and concise common terms)
  • Serve as an account manager for assigned clients
  • Manage current programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of capture and business development experience
  • 2-3 years of proposal writing experience
  • Proven track record of working in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience with the Shipley process or other capture methodologies
  • Effective written and presentation communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
  • Previous experience working as a Program Manager
  • Federal or DoD contracting or acquisition
  • Experience working across both government and industry-driven environments
  • Experience engaging across a variety of STEM disciplines
