Title: Pastoral Family Care Partner
35 hours per week
Department: Saint Dominic Villa
Person to Whom Accountable: Prioress of St. Dominic Villa
Positions Supervised: None
Summary of Position: The Pastoral Family Care Partner renders services to Sisters of St. Dominic Villa which are ordinarily provided by family members or an ordinary part of vowed Dominican life.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain good relationships with the Management Administrator and Staff Members, recognizing their Ultimate responsibility for the welfare of residents and implementation of skilled nursing home regulations.
2. As assigned, render the following services in a pastoral manner
· Liturgical worship and prayer services
· Frequent visits with assigned Sisters
· Clothing needs and personal care supplies
· Mail and assistance with correspondence
· Companioning and at times driving Sisters with Medical appointments
· Support for Sisters as they deal with increased diminishment, and the realities of death and dying
· Designated services for the dying, including wake and funeral celebrations
· Participate in weekly staff meetings
3. Complete other assigned duties consonant with family care partnering.
Abilities and Skills Required:
1. Training and experience preferred, but not required
2. Knowledge and understanding of personal care standards and procedures arising from previously successful similar service in an elder care or medical care facility and consistent adherence to all related to confidentiality standards
3. Must demonstrate a practical knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith with expression of consistent respect towards and devotion/affection for our elder Sisters
4. Must have the physical ability and stamina to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs daily; to carry objects with and without assistance as needed; to regularly perform standing, sitting, walking and bending motions for extended periods of time.
5. To possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive
6. Ability to travel independently using Sinsinawa Vehicles.
7. Ability to help people in and out of a car/van as needed.
Job Types: Temporary, Full-time
Pay: $14.42 - $16.01 per hour
