Carpenter (Architectural Tradesman)
Job description

Constructs and repairs cabinets, desks, tables, and other office/school furniture

Constructs ADA furniture and equipment (seats, changing tables, swings, etc) for students

Conduct quarterly safety inspections (and additional when needed) of ADA furniture/equipment
-
Repairs doors and locks
-
Constructs and repairs screens
-
Builds forms for pouring concrete
-
Operates woodworking machinery
-
Constructs small buildings, sheds, and additions
-
Works with finishing materials and various products
-
Self-auditing practices in safety awareness and procedures

Daily attendance
-
Engaged and on task
-
Performs other duties as assigned

Graduation from high school, trade school or equivalent; three years of carpentry experience;

Considerable knowledge of the common practices, materials, tools, and terminology of the trade;

Ability to estimate time and materials; operate common woodworking machinery; rig and work from scaffolds; and lay out work for self and others;

Good physical condition required; must have a valid Virginia Operator's license.
