Job description
A fast growing, local residential remodeling company, is looking for a new carpenter. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is able to both work alone, and with 1-2 others, along with some subs. We are looking for someone with experience but we are also willing to train the right person. We specialize in decks, kitchens, baths, basements, living space upgrades, water damage, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Efficiently execute tasks needed to complete a project including but not limited to: -marking out, digging and installing footings
-framing decks
-framing walls
-installing composite decking
-installing windows
-installing cabinetry
-crown molding
-installing interior and exterior doors and moldings
-installing vinyl flooring
-tiling (a plus)
-sheetrocking (a plus)
Candidates should be able to perform safe and proper use and maintenance of all tools and equipment. Accurately report time worked. Some other responsibilities to note are below.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Hold a valid drivers license
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Outstanding attention to detail
-Ability to stay on task unsupervised
-Excellent customer service skills
-Ability to operate construction hand tools
-3 references required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Individuals will work in various types of weather conditions (hot and cold).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Candidate should have the ability to lift 90 lbs. to shoulder, push 150 lbs. overhead frequently, and work on high areas of construction project 15-20ft.
SCHEDULE
Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30am - 5pm but we can start earlier or go later than that sometimes. MOST weekends are off. Days can end late sometimes, so the exact start and end hours can be up and down. To start, the work will be part time 2-3 days a week but has the ability to very quickly become full time.
COMPENSATION
Pay is competitive but is also dependent on experience. Carpenter pay is based on experience and will be in the the $20-$30 range.
LOCATION
Most of our work is within 15 minutes of Congers, NY, but has the ability to be anywhere in Rockland County.
The job is available immediately. This is a long term career and skill building job, so I’m only looking for committed long term applicants.
