Overview:
This opportunity is for a Category Manager, Strategic Sourcing for Protein & Dairy and will be a staff position reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing & Commodities. The Co-op is located in Duluth, GA and the selected candidate will be required to live in this area.

Position Summary
The Category Manager, Strategic Sourcing for Protein & Dairy will directly oversee select product categories as an essential part of the NDCP Strategic Sourcing team. The Category Manager develops, leads, and actively executes category strategies. He or she will be responsible for researching the category environment, understanding current market dynamics, managing supplier negotiations, creating and analyzing competitive RFPs and making recommendations as to how to grow and improve the business through strategic sourcing of protein and dairy products.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain strong supplier business relationships.
• Interface with internal departments such as Purchasing, Operations, Finance as well as Dunkin’ to provide optimum cross-functional planning and execution of Sourcing functions.
• Fully understand product category cost drivers.
• Develop category food cost plan and monitor performance throughout the year.
• Participate and conduct business planning sessions to fully understand business requirements and sourcing needs.
• Enhance supplier development by communicating performance standards, developing joint improvement initiatives and jointly scorecarding suppliers with input from cross-functional partners and Dunkin’
• Utilize strategic sourcing tools to sustain continuous cost reduction programs for NDCP’s largest controllable expenditures.
• Identify, develop, and support cost savings measures to the system.
• Manage and resolve product supply issues as needed.
• Prepare and manage Sourcing Events, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. Analyze responses and work with appropriate internal counterparts for best case award decision.
• Negotiate lowest possible landed cost based on product specifications, quality, service levels, and industry conditions.
• Ensure all supplier contracts are complete, properly executed and have considered all cost variables, including the unbundling of freight.
• Work with Transportation in determining optimal delivery terms, rates and freight class.
• Ensure supply contingency plans and strategy are up-to date and easily activated in the event primary suppliers are unable to perform as required.

Qualifications:

• College Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant field
• 3–7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing desired
• Industry experience in Foodservice Distribution and a QSR environment is a plus
• Experience in a purchasing Co-Op is a benefit
• Familiarity utilizing the 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
