Job Title: Catering & Events Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Catering & Sales Manager
Position Summary
As a Catering & Events Assistant, you will be responsible for all Catering & Events Department administrative duties. If you are a proactive team player with a strong work ethic, are detail-oriented, and have a passion for hospitality, we want to hear from you!
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist the Catering & Events management team will all administrative duties
- Act as a liaison between Sales and Operations Managers
- Manage daily office duties, including collecting contracts and payments, updating banquet event orders, team distribution, menu and buffet card printing, setting up binders for offsite events
- Data management; calendars, menus, floor plans
- Answer inquiries when necessary
- Staffing events and managing staff correspondence
- Support with uniform inventory – maintaining roster of staff and sizes, and assistance with pulling uniforms for events
- Maintain warehouse inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies with the MML Event Manager
- Coordinate with third party vendors (rentals, floral, a/v) - including pickup and delivery as needed
- Restaurant event support – packing and coordinating pickup with appropriate managers, checking out warehouse inventory and tracking returns
- Assist with offsite events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1-year catering & events experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and people skills required
- Must be available to work outside normal business hours as directed
- Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent periods of being on your feet per shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
