Job Title: Pediatrics Primary Care Medical Assistant - Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)

Job Summary: Nurture Pediatrics' Medical Assistant in a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) setting provides comprehensive support to the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to pediatric patients. This role involves a combination of administrative duties, clinical tasks, and patient interaction to ensure efficient and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination of patient care activities, including scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and facilitating referrals to specialists.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are well-stocked with necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Greet and room pediatric patients, obtaining vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments as ordered by the healthcare provider and according to established protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and specimen collection, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
• Conduct health screenings, measurements (height, weight, head circumference), and developmental assessments on pediatric patients.
• Assist in patient education and counseling, providing information on preventive care, medication administration, and self-care at home.
• Document patient encounters, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, medication safety guidelines, and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a pediatric primary care setting.
• Familiarity with patient-centered medical home (PCMH) concepts and quality improvement initiatives.
• Basic knowledge of pediatric clinical procedures, immunizations, and medications.
• Proficiency in taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and documenting patient information accurately.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with pediatric patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
• Current CPR certification

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Per diem

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
