Frito-Lay is seeking inclusive and committed Certified Sanitors who will be responsible for being the point person for the sanitation team, cleaning and sanitizing processing and packaging equipment that produces the products you already know and love. Although you will start with Frito-Lay, this job can open the door to career opportunities with our parent company, PepsiCo. Your job will be to ensure that our customers continue to trust us when it comes to food safety.
As a Certified Sanitor, your work schedule will be 40 to 45 hours per week. Work hours can vary and usually involve working nights and weekend. As a Certified Sanitor, you can expect to work on your feet the entirety of your shift near heavy machinery in a loud manufacturing environment. We wear productive gear (think of a HAZMAT suit) and we squeeze, crawl, and climb wherever we need to go to make sure a job is done correctly. Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities are also large. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature is limited. Indoor warehouse working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.
Here is a list of some of the more frequent tasks you can expect to perform during a typical workday:
- Learn all sanitation jobs and procedures.
- Act as Point Person in Quality Systems and AIB Audits.
- Keep up with paperwork on Sections of QAS, AIB / will own a program in QAS, AIB.
- Provide training, daily coaching and feedback to sanitation, production, warehouse, and maintenance.
- Attend training and seminars. (Travel Required)
- Responsible for down cleaning production equipment, completing sanitation work orders, cleaning items on the master sanitation schedule, and back filling for vacation.
- Will be designed point person on production lines for food safety and FSMA purposes, helping in trash room, and other projects as assigned by the coordinator, point person or SCL.
- Participation in daily decision making and goal setting.
- Enforcement of safe work practices.
- Employee will be responsible for daily housekeeping and following GMP's while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Must be engaged in all aspects of cost, quality, service, and people.
- Engagement in performance teams and must take active ownership of team roles by providing coaching, training, and feedback to site teams.
- This position will assist us in maintaining a certified workforce in Sanitation.

- You will be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift
- You can climb, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You are willing to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant
- You are willing and able to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces
