Chef/Food Manager:
Looking for a Chef to cook and oversee a high-volume seasonal beach concession stand in Southampton Village. Coopers beach has been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and as with most seasonal services in the Hamptons it caters to a large number of customers during the Summer season . We are looking for someone who can run a beach side cafe. This individual should have the following qualifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years cooking in the service industry
- Ability to manage and teach a small team of cooks
- Team leader and create an efficient and positive kitchen
- Experience in managing inventory, placing and receiving orders and sourcing products working with multiple different vendors
- Basic food costing skills
- Ability to cook high-volume at a fast pace while keeping consistency and quality
- Create Specials and utilize seasonal ingredients
- Suffolk County Food Managers License and focus on a clean, sanitary kitchen
This is a seasonal position, but will have the opportunity to continue through the offseason with the restaurant group. Position is full-time, but during the peak season you should expect to work between 50-60 hours. This position starts full time ASAP and continues through Labor Day. This is an amazing opportunity for a motivated and creative cook who is ready to take on the chef position and help build a restaurant from the beginning.
Compensation is $35+ per hour, based on experience.
