Job description

Looking for a qualified, experienced Chef who is passionate about food and familiar with the local markets/farms, to work with our kitchen team at a growing restaurant kitchen in the Glenwood/Vernon area. Seeking person will be first in command for the BoH, and who will create and inspect dishes ensuring high quality and customer enjoyment.

Responsibilities

• Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
• Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer.
• Weekly ordering
• Arrange for repairs when necessary.
• Be fully in charge of hiring, scheduling, managing and training all Back of House staff.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.

Skills

• Proven experience as Chef
• Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
• Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
• Credentials in health and safety training
• Degree in Culinary science or related certificate

Final salary will be based upon experience.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
