Our client is a premier provider of magnetizing and measuring technology as well as certification, calibration and testing services to various industries. This family-owned European company has almost 50 years of experience in magnetics and is a recognized specialist in the industry and one of very few companies offering three distinct services with accompanying revenue streams. Our client also has an excellent customer base – including globally known brands in the fields of industry, automotive and loudspeakers.
Our client is actively seeking a strategic, forward-thinking, and hands-on CEO to lead the US subsidiary (US subsidiary is very independent but can leverage worldwide resources). The primary responsibility of this entrepreneurial executive is to direct all activities of the Company in the United States, develop its organizational structure, and implement sales and marketing processes and initiatives to achieve maximum sales volume and ensure profitability.
The location of this role is preferably in Indianapolis, IN but can be flexible for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and vision to the US organization.
- Review the company’s internal business operations; prepare annual business operating plans and budgets.
- Set clearly defined short- and long-term goals for the internal development of the organization and develop action plans to meet these goals.
- Evaluate industry and business trends to identify and analyze opportunities for growth.
- Actively engage in the acquisition of new key customers while maintaining relationships with existing clients and partners.
- Drive sales and strategic targeting of key markets and clients and leverage existing connections in the industry for business growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute sales and business development action plans to build new relationships and enter new markets.
- Provide exemplary operational management (including customer service, quality management, project management). Ensure that operational objectives are aligned with overall business strategy.
- Perform budget and P&L management responsibilities.
- Serve as an agent for business improvements, new initiatives, policies, and processes.
- Interface regularly with the Company headquarters and closely cooperate to discuss sales pipeline development, forecasting, key account status, market condition updates, and general activity reports.
- Represent the organization in important external business relationships with major clients, joint venture partners and the public.
- Support and participate in local and global trade fairs, conferences, workshops, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key qualifications:
- Several years of leadership experience in sales, business development and/or general management required.
- Strong technical background, especially on magnetics, is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience selling technical products (e.g., magnetizing equipment or metrology equipment) as well as related services (e.g., magnetizing services, material testing and calibration) would be highly preferable.
- Strong market background and familiarity with the current and new account base is strongly desired; experience dealing with key players/influencers (e.g., manufacturers, suppliers, research and development organizations) is preferred.
- An existing network of industry contacts in relevant industries would be a strong advantage.
- Global perspective and awareness, and direct experience working intercultural environment and/or across diverse cultures would be beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
