Summary of the Role:
The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of all companies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
Job responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance. Oversee the accounting department and the budget preparation and audit functions.
- Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers and investments.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter.
- Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
- Shared responsibility with COO for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company. Bottom line: build a beautiful company.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
- Motivate and lead a high performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
- Assist, as required, in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations to enable the company to meet sales, growth, and market share objectives.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
- Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Analyzes problems in dept, objective in decision making, accurate attention to detail and people builder.
- Willing to do 25% travel
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $195,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
