Central Administration
Chief Human Resources Officer
Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership for human resource activities to ensure high quality staffing and retention of district personnel. Responsible for the overall management of the district's human resources function. Lead the strategic planning and implementation of human resource programs to include professional and auxiliary staffing, wage and salary administration, leave administration, performance appraisal, employee relations, and data reporting requirements. Recommend and implement legally sound and effective human resource management programs, policies, and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
:
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field
required
Master's Degree, human resources certification, mid-management/principal certification
preferred
Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser
required
Certified Texas Principal Evaluation Support System (T-PESS) Appraiser
required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of selection, training, and supervision of personnel
Knowledge of wage and salary, benefits, and performance appraisal administration
Knowledge of general and education employment law, personnel law, and hearing procedures
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Knowledge of Skyward software
preferred
Excellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, the school board, or other organizations
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible experience (including supervisory responsibilities) in human resources management or public school administration
Previous governmental work experiences (preferably in a Texas public school district) with a high level of responsibility, supervisory experience, and familiarity with the Skyward human resource/financial software system
SALARY/WORK DAYS:
Exempt Status; Administrator Pay Scale - Grade 7; 226 work days annually
