About Little Wonders Early Learning Center
Little Wonders Early Learning Center is a new early childhood endeavor (est: Aug 2022) committed to providing care for the young children of public-school teachers and staff in Nashville. We currently operate one 38-seat center in South Nashville and will open a second center in west Nashville late summer 2023. We are looking for those with a passion for leading teams of educators as they nurture young children’s growth, development, and sense of wonder.

Our Mission: Little Wonders Early Learning Center aims to deliver high-quality, child-centered early education and care to the children of Davidson county’s hardworking educators. Through stimulating classroom and outdoor environments and responsive educator practices we strive to foster children’s innate wonder, curiosity, and brilliance as, together, they learn about the world around them.

General Position Description

The Site Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the center’s care. The Center Director is directly accountable for overall operational management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, student enrollment, and long range planning. The Center Director ensures that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.

Site Directors are 12-month, salaried employees with 15 days of PTO per year, competitive salaries

(based on education and experience), and a comprehensive benefits package. This position reports to the Executive Director

Key Responsibilities
● Manage adherence to safety and quality standards in accordance with the mission and vision of

Little Wonders ELC and with state and local requirements. Maintain quality effectiveness measurements.

● Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; ensure legal and financial compliance.

● Establish daily operations, illness, and emergency procedures in partnership with host schools’ operations team; ensure staff is trained appropriately and maintain accurate records of emergency drills.

● With the Executive Director, manage budget planning and review.
● Maintain and update financial and accounting systems, processes, and internal controls including weekly bookkeeping (QuickBooks) and monthly financial statements. Ensure compliance with the annual budget.

● Oversee site-specific office functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing and payment, human resources and personnel management (staff supervision), staff files, and purchasing.

● Create a warm, welcoming environment for all students, family, staff, and visitors.
● Manage weekly staffing schedules. Assume duties of teachers and floaters as needed during their absence
● Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
● Collaborate with staff to plan and execute developmentally appropriate, child-centered learning activities; manage adherence to state and local regulations.
● Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
● Manage family recruitment efforts including member school visits, tabling, center tours, website maintenance, and communication
● Manage student enrollment processes
● Lead family engagement initiatives including family newsletters, Family Wonder Nights, Family

Fun Fridays, social media accounts, and parent advisory board.
● Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and parent handbook
● Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
● Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
● 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
● High energy.
● Strong oral and written communications skills; technology skills.
● Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
● A strong understanding of child development.
● Strong finance and budgeting skills.
● Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
● Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
● Must clear full background check.
● Must pass health screening.

Educational Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE preferred.

Physical Requirements
● Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl and lift up to 40 lbs.

● A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.

● Must pass a current physical examination by a physician.

Wage Range
Site Director salaries begin at $50,000/yr. Pay commensurate with education and experience.
