POSITION SUMMARY
The Child Care Eligibility Case Specialist will build relationships with families and provide the necessary information/resources to encourage the well-being and success of our families in managing their childcare subsidy. Under close supervision, The Child Care Eligibility Specialist will manage a caseload of families who participate in the Alternative Payment programs (APP/CalWORKs) and will conduct individual appointments with parents to determine eligibility and need for subsidized childcare.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide and explain Davis Street childcare programs to parents who walk-in or call; educate on eligibility and need.
- Conduct enrollment and recertification appointments.
- Request documentation for continual compliance to regulatory guidelines and Davis Street policy.
- Track and monitor eligibility and status on families actively receiving childcare subsidy services.
- Calculate income and determine family fees and adjusted gross income according to regulatory guidelines.
- Provide prompt and professional responses to clients, co-workers, and other individuals while delivering timely services or correspondence.
- Maintain organization of family case files
- Participate in trainings, webinars, conferences, workshops, staff meetings, and other program related meetings or events as required.
- Provide relevant and timely resource and referrals as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- AA Degree and/or certificate in Human Services, Business, Early Childhood Education and/or related field
- 1-2 years’ related experience preferred.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Must de detail oriented have strong clerical, administrative and computer literacy skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, and work under strict deadlines.
- Must have strong mathematical skills, and experience with data entry.
- Proficient in EXCEL, WORD, and other software.
- Bilingual/Spanish or Chinese helpful (based on office needs)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
