Provides case management support services and therapy services to child consumers determined to have a chronic Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) which impedes adequate functioning in one or more of the following areas: school, work, community, family, interpersonal relationships. Provides therapy to parents and family members as necessary to improve child functioning. Also responsible to provide outpatient therapy services to children as assigned. Responsible to the Program Supervisor for delivery of direct and indirect service units consistent with qualitative and quantitative performance goals and standards established for the department.

Education, Training and Licensing Credentials:
Master's degree in social work, psychology or related clinical field with current Michigan licensure or certification. Requires a minimum of one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families. Experience with short-term outpatient therapy techniques is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care for the specific clinical needs and ages of the individuals served. Demonstrated knowledge of the clinical needs, symptoms, and behaviors of individuals served, as well as understand the principles of growth and development over the life span; have the ability to assess data reflecting each individuals status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each individuals requirements in relation to his or her age-specific/population specific needs; and to provide the care needed by the appropriate age group - (child, adolescent and adult).
