THIS POSITION
As a Civil Project Engineer your primary focus will be project delivery and driving client satisfaction. While working closely with our Project Engineering team, you will use your experience to develop conceptual designs to satisfy project objectives, oversee and participate in the preparation of construction documents, coordinate with project managers to ensure scope, budget and schedule are satisfied; attend meetings, job walks and observe construction activities, etc. You will help conceive, design, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain projects. Most importantly, you will be a passionate, motivated individual with a strong desire to research, learn, and grow with our team.
THIS TEAM
As part of our Hydro team, you will work with our utility clients Southern California Edison and Pacific Gas & Electric on a variety of projects at their power generation facilities throughout California. Sample projects include territory-wide hydro bridge inspections, fall protection improvements, waterway safety improvements, and dam regulatory release structures. If you enjoy traveling to remote areas and working on engineering projects related to powerhouses, tunnels, dams, supporting infrastructure and be part of a team that’s redefining innovation - this opportunity is for you!
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis Preferred)
  • EIT Certification/CA Professional Engineer’s License (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS and/or Microstation)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills to express work in a timely and effective manner within team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on project
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards in civil design, including site layout, grading, erosion control, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer, and roadway
  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and coordinate/ follow-up with multiple priorities, while managing time effectively and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in completion of work, including directing engineering activities to complete project
LOCATION
  • We are strategically located in the Central Valley, CA to best serve the needs of our clients
  • This position will report to our headquarters office in Clovis, California - in the fun, heart of Old Town Clovis!
  • This position requires occasional off-site meetings or client site visits
