Hunt Valley Environmental, LLC (HVE) is a small environmental engineering firm located in Westmoreland County, PA. HVE has a diverse group of private, public and non-profit clients in Western Pennsylvania. HVE is looking for dynamic and driven Entry Level Engineer to assist with our current clients to complete their permitting and engineering needs, while working in a dynamic team setting. Successful candidates, under the supervision from our experienced staff, will use their technical abilities to assist the Project Environmental Managers and Engineers with anticipated following tasks:

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning, design and construction of fill sites for various contractors.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection and compilation for environmental resources.
  • Prepare reports
  • Develop design plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Review Subdivision, Land Development, Grading and Zoning plans, including review and development of Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control plans
  • Prepare federal, state and local permit applications
  • Perform construction observation and field engineering services
  • Prepare grant/funding applications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution or acceptable equivalent. Fundamentals in Engineering (EIT) registration or ability to obtain within 1 year. Will consider December 2021 and May 2022 graduates.
  • 0 - 2 years' experience (experience in a consulting environment is a positive factor)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to assist in/conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports
  • Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements will be favorably considered
  • Physically able to perform work in the field
  • Willingness to travel with a valid driving license.
  • Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in Microstation or AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering software
  • Working knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling and other specialty engineering software also beneficial
