ACMG is currently hiring for a Civil Engineer at Cherry Point Marine Base, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of detailed civil engineering analysis, calculations, and designs
- Development of plans using AutoCAD
- Specifications, and cost estimates, in support of in-house
- A/E design bid build and design-build projects, for a wide range of projects.
- Typical design projects include Naval Shore Facilities, multi-story offices and quarters, hospitals, towers, airfields, aircraft overhaul facilities, industrial waste treatment plants, piers, photovoltaic farms, training facilities, waterfront
Knowledge, Skills
- Understanding of the military design and construction process.
- Understanding that includes all aspects of acquisition and project execution as a design/construction agent.
- Ability to simultaneously manage technical reviews of multiple design & construction projects.
- Working knowledge of MS Project, AutoCADD, and Visio a plus.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to positively react to changes in directions, and filter out unnecessary tasks.
- Outstanding interaction skills, tact, and team-building skills.
- Ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
- Utilize technology to facilitate geographically separated offices into a virtual collaborative environment.
- The ability to read, interpret and analyze technical designs and drawings is required. Typical design projects include Naval Shore Facilities, including multi-story offices and quarters, hospitals, towers, airfields, aircraft overhaul facilities, industrial waste treatment plants, piers, photovoltaic farms, training facilities, waterfront structures, including drydocks, piers, and wharves, portal crane and railroad track and foundations, and a very wide diversity of other structures and facilities.
- Excellent communication skills both oral, visual and written.
- Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology program
- Registered Professional Engineer
- A minimum of 5 years of civil design including at least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a Federal Agency
- 5 years experience in AutoCAD
- Competency with all basic MSOffice software
- Experience with performing surveys using topographical survey equipment is preferred.
