Job Description
Position Summary: The Claims Assistant I will provide support to the Claims Team. This will include handling new claim notifications via mail, web or phone, dispatching claim assignments, processing of incoming and outgoing claims documentation, mail, and assisting in various other support functions, as needed
This is an in office position located in Jacksonville, Florida.
Job Description/Essential Functions:
- Greet all inbound calls warmly and in a professional manner
- Input all necessary policyholder and loss information into system to complete a First Notice of Loss Report or process a customer service-related call
- Timely dispatch new claims to the appropriate unit on a rotational basis
- Process incoming and outgoing claims documentation and correspondences including, but not limited to, mail, faxes, and emails
- Assist in filing, data entry, paying invoices and archiving documents for the Claims Team
- Must be willing to assist with mailroom and post office duties as needed
- Responsible for and appropriate use of company issued equipment
- Must be willing to work additional hours as part of catastrophe response
- Additional duties as assigned by Manager as business needs change
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service role
- Adjuster’s license or customer service license a plus
- P&C industry experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
Skills
- Strong communication skills, written and oral
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred
- Able to multitask and be organized in a high-volume environment
